that drives global circulation. Tropics absorb ~60–80 W/m² more than they emit (net positive),
poles emit ~60–100 W/m² more than they absorb (net negative). The difference is transported
poleward by ocean currents (Gulf Stream, Kuroshio) and atmospheric cells (Hadley, Ferrel).
